Through Longbeard, Matthew has collaborated with Vatican bodies, such as the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, and helped build the technological foundation for the Holy See's Migrants and Refugees Section-personally overseen by Pope Francis-at Cardinal Czerny's invitation. She joined the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Vincent de Paul in 2014 and took the religious name Marija Benedikta (Edith Stein) - in the form Nina Benedikta. Her first vows were professed in 2018 at the Sisters' convent in Rijeka, and her perpetual vows were made on August 13, 2023, at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Trsat.

After entering religious life, Sister Nina worked as a lawyer at the Center for Social Welfare in Rijeka, at the Caritas home "St. Ana" for women and children victims of domestic violence, and coordinated the Transit Point for migrants at Caritas of the Archdiocese of Rijeka. She also trained in psychotherapy and provided support for individuals recovering from alcohol addiction.

She is active in media as a contributor to the Croatian Catholic Radio and Radio Maria, and writes articles for the Croatian Catholic Network portal. She is currently pursuing a postgraduate specialist program in Public Relations at the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb. After completing his studies, he went to the United States. He was ordained a priest on February 7, 1993, in the Croatian parish of St. Cyril and Methodius in New York. Following his ordination, he continued his pastoral work in the same parish. During his time in New York, he pursued postgraduate studies at St. John’s University, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Theology.

In 1996, he was assigned to the Croatian parish of St. Jerome in Chicago, where he assumed the role of pastor in August 2001, a position he held until early 2013. In September 2012, Fr. Jozo became the Custos of the Croatian Franciscan Custody of the Holy Family.

In 2022, he was elected Provincial of the Herzegovinian Franciscan Province of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
