From March 20th to 23rd, 2025, the second edition of the ITM Conference was held in Medjugorje – a unique event at the crossroads of faith, technology, and human connection. Over four days, the program brought together leading scientists, IT professionals, theological authorities, and business leaders from 26 countries (Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Croatia, El Salvador, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, USA). We take this opportunity to invite all interested individuals to join our growing IT Community.
A Fusion of Knowledge, Prayer, and Dialogue
The conference opened with a ceremony in the St. John Paul II Hall, with welcome messages from Mons. Aldo Cavalli, Fr. Zvonimir Pavičić, Fr. Danko Perutina, and Vedran Vidović, Director of ICMM. The highlight of the first day was an inspiring lecture by Dr. Davor Pavuna, world-renowned physicist from EPFL Lausanne, titled: "100 Years of Quantum Physics – And Where Is God?", which offered a powerful link between scientific insight and the spiritual questions of the modern age.
EXPERT TALKS & PANELS
Friday was dedicated to current topics from the world of technology. Dr. Ivana Žilić (DePaul University, USA) spoke about the impact of artificial intelligence on business productivity. Dr. Drago Cmuk (Forvis Mazars Digital) explored the "human touch in digital transformation", sharing real-world insights from projects with Rimac, Končar, and Shell. Martina Ćurić (Schneider Electric) led an engaging networking workshop titled “Faith and Technology: Building Relationships,” creating space for deep and interactive conversations among participants.
In the afternoon, a panel titled “The Church and the Challenge of New Technologies” was held, featuring Mons. Petar Palić and Dr. Cmuk, moderated by Martina Ćurić. The discussion addressed critical questions about the Church’s relationship with AI, digital culture, and the ethical responsibilities of believers in the tech age.
SPIRITUAL DIMENSION
What makes ITM truly unique is its spiritual dimension. Daily prayers, rosaries, Holy Mass, and Adoration were an integral part of the program, alongside relaxed evening gatherings offering further opportunities for connection and networking. On Saturday, participants made a pilgrimage to Apparition Hill, followed by a moving testimony by the Cenacolo Community, which touched many and encouraged personal reflection and spiritual renewal.
WORKSHOPS & CLOSING
Saturday afternoon featured the workshop: “Bringing Faith to Work: Practical Strategies,” while Sunday concluded the event with prayer, a final reflection, and Holy Mass led by Fr. Danko Perutina.
Conclusion: More Than Just a Conference
ITM 2025 was not just an IT conference – it was an experience that connected mind and heart, science and spirituality, technology and humanity. We thank all speakers, partners, participants, and volunteers for their support, trust, and sense of community. Until next time – see you at #ITM2026!
